Melrose High School Boys' Hockey Blanks Arlington in MIAA Tournament

The no. 9 ranked Melrose High School boys' hockey team bested no. 8 Arlington 2-0 Wednesday night at O'Brien Rink in Woburn in the preliminary round of the Division 1 North bracket, according to the Boston Globe website.

Melrose (9-6-4) tallied a goal in the second period and another in the third, according to the Globe. For the second time this season Melrose beat Arlington on the road, as they beat the Spy Ponders 7-0 on Jan. 26 in Arlington, according to the Globe.

Arlington finishes the season on a three-game losing streak and with an overall record of 8-8-5, according to the Globe.

Melrose advances to the second round, where they will square off with top-ranked Chelmsford (13-3-4) at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Chelmsford, according to the Globe. The teams did not play one another during the regular season.
