New Photo, Details Of Melrose Man Wanted For Attempted Murder
Police are calling the attack a domestic assault.

MELROSE, MA - Police are still searching for a man who allegedly broke into two women's house Friday night and attacked them. The attack is being considered a domestic assault rather than a home invasion, but police are not commenting on the women's relationship to the man.
John C. Ferreira, 54, of Melrose is wanted for assault with intent to murder, Chief Michael Lyle said. He broke into a Vinton Street home and attacked the women, police said.
Ferreira is a white male with a medium build and light complexion. He is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs about 199 lbs. He has a graying mustache and partially shaved brown hair.

Police said he is believed to be operating a red Toyota Corolla with Mass. plate 546XL1. He allegedly stole the vehicle from one of the victims.
Ferreira is also believed to be traveling with a Rottweiler dog. He is considered armed and dangerous.
