Melrose Parking, Intersections On Tap For Traffic Meeting
The Traffic Commission is holding a meeting on Dec. 20 to discuss several items.

MELROSE, MA — Get your pitchforks out: It's time for another Traffic Commission meeting. The meeting takes place Wednesday, Dec. 20, at 5:30 in the Aldermanic Chamber at City Hall.
On the table are some half-dozen signs regarding parking - including the always popular "No Parking Opposite Driveway" signs - and a request to make the intersection of Dell Ave. and East Foster St. a four-way stop instead of a two-way stop. 1. Approve minutes from Special Meeting on October 3rd, 2017
2. Update on West Emerson data from October 3rd, 2017 Special Meeting
3. Discuss “No Parking Opposite Driveway” sign across from 117 Trenton Street
Then on to some new business:
1. Request for “No Parking Opposite Driveway” sign to be replaced across from 201 First Street
2. Request for “No Parking Opposite Driveway” sign to be replaced across from 207 First Street
3. Request to extend “No Parking” signs to the east side of Mt. Vernon Avenue from Potomac Street to Mt. Vernon Street and to add “No Parking Anytime” signs on Potomac Street
4. Request to make Malvern Street a One Way from Lebanon Street to Linwood Avenue
5. Request to make Reading Hill Road “Resident Parking Only”
6. Proposed weekday parking restrictions on Sargent Street from Franklin Street to West Highland Avenue to prevent long-term commuter parking/business parking
7. Request to remove “Resident Parking Only” sign/s from Brazil Street and replace with “2 Hour Parking from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM Monday - Friday”
8. Request to change intersection of Dell Avenue and East Foster Street to a 4-way stop instead of a 2-way stop
9. Request to review the parking regulations on West Foster from Main to Berwick Street to explore more on street residential parking beyond the 2 hour maximum
10. Request to extend the current fire lane that runs along Stevens Place around the corner to encompass the frontage of 8 Eastman Place (on Eastman Place)
Then discussion items are up for ... discussion:
1. Request to add curb ramps at the crosswalk on Upham St in front of the Gulf Station, between Ardsmoor Road and Woodcrest Drive
2. Request for a crosswalk on Upham St between the one mentioned above and Ashcroft Road
3. Request for a crossing light at the corner of Franklin Street and Vinton Street
4. Request for addition of speed limit signs on Grove Street
