Melrose Police Log: A 911 Call From the Strangest of Places and More

Also: Found syringes, hacked Twitter accounts, snow shoveling shysters, more.

Here are excerpts from the Melrose Police log from Jan. 2-8. We jump ahead a bit and start with our log item of the week!

On Tuesday at 4:02 p.m., a man called 911 to transport his family member to a hospital for a bloody nose. The call originated from the ER waiting room at Melrose-Wakefield. The man said the waiting room wait was too long at Melrose-Wakefield.


On Monday at 9:53 a.m., caller reported a syringe found near the bridge on Melrose St. It was located and disposed of.

On Monday at 11:02 a.m., report was taken of a breaking and entering burglary on Grove Street.

On Monday at 2:42 p.m., report was taken of a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle on North Forest Street.

On Monday at 5:15 p.m., walk-in report of stolen babyseat on Lynn Fells Parkway. Police are investigating.

On Wednesday at 7:44 a.m., caller reported parked school bus with children screaming out the windows at Carlida Road and Howard treet.

On Wednesday at 5:20 p.m., report of skateboarder interfering with Whole Foods on Main Street. Parties sent on their way.

On Friday at 11:56 a.m., a walk-in report of a party dropped off on the Washington Street side of Oak Grove, stated he as going to jump in front of the train. MBTA police were notifiec.

On Friday at 1:46 p.m., a report was taken of a Twitter account that was hacked.

On Friday at 2:15 p.m., a report was taken of a stolen snowblower on West Emerson Street.

On Friday at 7:29 p.m., a report was taken of a stolen Dominoes delivery sign from Mount Vernon Street.

On Saturday at 7:24 p.m., caller reported three men wanting to shovel out walkways without any shovels in their possession on Converse Lane. Could not be located, but same complaint from Pleasant Street, aying suspects were in small red car.

On Sunday at 1:13 p.m., a report was taken for windshield wipers stolen from a vehicle on Howard Street.
