8:05 p.m. Residential alarm at home on East Emerson Street. Mail put in slot by neighbor set off alarm.

Tuesday, Aug. 2

7:34 a.m. golf course vandalized during the night.

5:41 p.m. Caller reports teen passed out on front stairs of on Franklin Street. Transported to hospital.

Wednesday, Aug. 3

2:17 p.m. Missing jewelry reported from Pleasant Street.

8:39 p.m. Walk-in report from Linwood Avenue of stolen mail.

Thursday, Aug. 4

11:02 a.m. National Grid requesting assistance on Lebanon Street.

4:01 p.m. Report of alarm sounding at Ashland Street home, possible smoke or carbon dioxide, caller was not sure. Fire Department made a forced entry.

7:17 p.m. Larceny reported from West Wyoming Avenue.

9:53 p.m. Disturbance in hallway of apartment building on Mount Vernon Street.

Friday, Aug. 5

9:16 a.m. Caller reported a van parked at Grove and Main Streets with a large amount of flies on the inside of the windows. Officer attempted to make contact with the van’s owner, to no avail.

11:40 a.m. Report of larceny from . Change jar in firefighter's quarters emptied.

11:49 a.m. Detail officer at East Emerson and Lebanon Streets reported oil truck drove by dragging is hose. Detail sergeant was able to stop truck and have the driver remove/correct hazard.

4:41 p.m. Officer reports trash dumping on Penney Road.

Saturday, Aug. 6

1:44 p.m. Melrose Mobil clerk tells sergeant that counterfeit $20 used inside store about two hours earlier. Confirmed counterfeit bill taken by police, matter under investigation.

2:33 p.m. Threats reported.

10:24 p.m. Caller reported a car full of intoxicated people out in front of their home at Chester and Florence Streets. Wives came and took their husbands home.

Sunday, Aug. 7

1:07 p.m. Caller reported clogged storm drains on Burrell Street. Residents cleared obstructions.

1:15 p.m. DPW notified about street flooding on Sylvan Street, Lebanon Street, Dill’s Court, Melrose Street and Tremont Street.

3:06 p.m. Walk-in report from Beacon Street of stolen property.

5:45 p.m. State called to report a past domestic disturbance at Main Street home.

Other Arrests and Summonses

A 46-year-old Malden man was issued a summons on Tuesday, Aug. 2 on charges of driving with a revoked registration, an uninsured motor vehicle, and failing to stop/yield.

A 22-year-old Melrose woman was placed under warrant arrest on Saturday, Aug. 6.

A 19-year-old Billerica man was issued a summons on Sunday, Aug. 7 on the charge of threat to commit a crime.

A 15-year-old male Melrose resident was placed under juvenile arrest on Sunday, Aug. 7 on the charge of assault and battery.
