Melrose Police Log: That's NOT A Syringe|Ghostly Bike Riders?|Burglary On Slyvan
Here are some of the more notable entries from last Monday's Melrose Police log.

MELROSE, MA — The Melrose Police log offers a peek into some of the (allegedly) crime-y parts of the city. It's important to remember that an arrest does not indicate a conviction.
Police listed 21 entries into Monday, Aug. 28's log. The following are excerpts, with some commentary (in italics) from yours truly. (Remember to keep up on Melrose happenings by subscribing for free!)
8:07 a.m. — Police respond to West Emerson Street at Poplar Street for a caller reporting a Gray Dodge was following too closely behind her, beeping and yelling because they felt she was operating too slow. The caller have the plate number, which came back to a different make of vehicle.

10:48 a.m. — A called reported a syringe found on the ground at Eastman Place behind the Starbucks. An officer deemed the item a toothbrush instead. Better safe than sorry!
12:57 p.m. — A walk-in report of a hit and run was listed under larceny/forgery/fraud.

5:25 p.m. — An officer was requested to speak with a small group of kids, aged 6-8, riding bikes on Damon Ave. A bunch of Caspers, apparently - police said no kids were found.
6:56 p.m. — A caller on Sanford Street reported being threatened by a neighbor.
10:46 p.m. — A past burglary (breaking and entering) on Sylvan Street was reported. Two people, including a 17-year-old were summonsed on charges of larceny over $250.
