MELROSE, MA — A resident is uninjured after accidentally driving his vehicle over the sidewalk and onto his property Thursday evening, according to the police department.

Officers and McGarvey Towing responded to the scene on the corner of Glendower Road and Whitman Avenue at approximately 7 p.m. to find the red Nissan Sentra stuck up on a small incline, having crushed some of the plants and spread debris.

Lieutenant Paul Norton told Patch that the resident was departing from his home at 2 Glendower Road when he had an “issue” backing out of his driveway. He was taken to the hospital as he had no recollection of the incident or how it took place. Neighbors secured the property and the vehicle was towed from the scene with minor damage.
