Melrose Voters Flood Polls, 72 Percent Reported Turnout
Nearly three quarters of registered voters in Melrose hit the polls Tuesday.

MELROSE, MA — A historic number of voters flooded the polls Tuesday in Melrose, voting largely in lockstep with the rest of the state.
Seventy-two percent of eligible voters, or 14,578 voters, showed up on Election Day, according to the city's unofficial results.
Melrose voters shut down Question 1, 10,476-3,684. (In a statistical anomaly, the same exact number of voters in Melrose voted against Question 1 as number of voters in Malden did.)

Meanwhile, Melrose voters approved Question 2, 10,466-3,551, and Question 3, 10,524-3,690.
In Melrose, State Sen. Jason Lewis coasted to 9,658 votes compared to 4,065 for Republican challenger Erin Calvo-Bacci.

Also, Elizabeth Warren beat Geoff Diehl, 9,182-4,648, in the U.S. Senate, and Charlie Baker beat Jay Gonzalez, 9,255-4,816 in the gubernatorial race.
