Melrose Water Main Break Shuts Down Streets, Service

A water main break at the intersection of Franklin and Tremont Streets has affected water service in areas of Melrose, the DPW said.

Water flooded much of the area and shut down roads and water service in the area. As of 4 p.m., service along Franklin Street from the Stoneham line to Tremont Street had been restored. Service to Franklin Street from Tremont to Albion was still out, but scheduled to be back by 7 p.m.

There is no impact for service at the Melrose Highlands station.
