Melrose Y Shows Donors, Community A Good Time
A luncheon Wednesday looked like a good time for all involved.
MELROSE, MA — It was a beautiful day for a meal on Main Street Wednesday afternoon, and the Melrose Family YMCA made the most of it by inviting donors and others to a Donor Appreciation Luncheon.
The luncheon, which saw a couple dozen people of all ages saddle up outside the Y for some good eats, recognizes those within the community who make it possible for the Y to provide financial assistance to participants. The assistance helps cover programs such as swimming, camp, child care, adult fitness, and more, according to the branch's executive director Katelyn Doherty.

"Without our supporters, the Melrose YMCA would be unable to assist as many individuals as we do," Doherty told Patch. "We are grateful for the support we receive and wanted to take the opportunity to thank our donors and those in the community that support us throughout the years."
Those in attendance included community members, donors, YMCA Employees, and a group of children from the Melrose YMCA Child Care Center who sang a few songs.
