Melrose's Newest Police Officer Sworn In
Patrolman Jaime Adames comes to Melrose after serving as a Lawrence Police Officer for the past decade.

Mayor Rob Dolan swore in Melrose’s newest police officer, Patrolman Jaime Adames, before a group of police officers and family in the Aldermanic Chamber on June 21, according to a press release from the mayor's office.
Before coming to Melrose, Adames served as a police officer in Lawrence for 10 years, and he has been the School Resource Officer in the Lawrence public schools since September 2010. Adames is married and has three daughters; he is a certified softball umpire and coaches basketball, and according to press release he is "very involved" in his home community.
“I am very pleased that at a time when other cities and towns are laying off public safety personnel, we are able to hire a new police officer,” Dolan said in the release. “Officer Adames brings a wealth of experience to the job, particularly working with youth, and he will be a valuable addition to the .”
