Melrose's Stop-And-Go Traffic Situation

Stop signs, truck routes, and fire lanes are on the table.

MELROSE, MA — Wednesday night's Melrose Traffic Commission meeting was canceled for the storm that never really came and rescheduled for next week - a stop-and-go situation. When the Commission does meet, here's what will be discussed:

The first order of business is approving the minutes of a Dec. 20 meeting and, my gosh, there were a lot of "minutes" to go around. The meeting stretched about four hours.

Next, the Commission will review data collected regarding a request to change the intersection of Dell Ave. and East Foster St. a two-way stop to a four-way stop. The Commission didn't seem optimistic the intersection would satisfy the criteria for such a change, but frequent drivers of the stop sign (ahem) can hope.
