- The city tree is resting today after yesterday’s blizzard. The wind is gentler today, but the branches and twigs of the tree move with the wind, to shake off the piles and patches of heavy snow that accumulated upon them. Today’s sunshine will not be enough to melt the snow from the tree, or the street. The tall spruce also wave in the breeze. They are holding on to patches of snow balls clinging to their green leaves. The area is quiet. The street has been plowed, and now the neighbors must come to clean the paths and sidewalks around their homes. In a few months when all the trees are green again; and all the pictures are put away. Yesterday will just be a memory of winter in Melrose
