Need a Private Space to Work or Write? Try the Writers Studio

If you are looking for a private space away from home where you can work or write, look no further than Follow Your Art Community Studios (FYACS) on Main Street in Melrose. FYACS is now making its Writers Studio available to guests on a first-come, first-served basis—no membership required.

The studio can be rented by guests Monday-Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.; the fee to rent the space for private use is $25 for 3 hours. Guests can call or email to reserve their spot: 781-665-4140 or info@fyamelrose.org.

“The pandemic has closed off many of the traditional places where at-home workers, college students, and writers used to work, including libraries and cafes,” said Elizabeth Christopher, FYACS board member and Writers Studio coordinator. “We are thrilled to be able to open the studio to guests as a place away from home where they can be productive.”

All users of the Writers Studio must follow FYACS COVID-19 protocols. FYACS also blocks time between users and sanitizes the Studio before and after use.

Tracy Geary, a Lynnfield resident who has been a member of the Writers Studio since 2019 says, “The Writers Studio has become a sanctuary for me, a place where I can focus on my work for a few hours without the interruptions of my family and distractions of everyday life. The room is bright and cheerful and most importantly to me, quiet! I accomplish more in a few hours there than I can at home. I come away from my time there feeling refreshed.”
