OutLoud Open Mike: Peggy Rambach with her Bestseller, THE LONS

This month, OutLoud Open Mike for poetry, prose and music at the
Beebe Estate features accomplished Boston area writer Peggy Rambach, whose novel THE
LONS recently made the Globe's Bestsellers list. Previous works
include:  Fighting Gravity
(memoir); When the Animals Leave (short stories); and two anthologies
(stories from cancer survivors in All that Matters: Memoir from the Wellness
Community of Greater Boston; and Seeds of Lotus: Cambodian and
Vietnamese Voices in America). Rambach's non-fiction has appeared in The
Christian Science Monitor, The Guardian, The Journal of the American Medical
Association, and the  Boston Globe
(Magazine, and Book Section).  She has received two awards from the
Massachusetts Cultural Council Individual Artist Grant in Fiction, as well as
the St. Botolph Foundation Grant in Literature.  Her  writers workshops for under-served
populations earned her the 2005 Literacy Champion award from the Massachusetts
Literacy Foundation.  Open Mike
sign-up is at 7:15 p.m., with performances/readings beginning at 7:30 p.m.  In the Beebe Estate's art exhibit
space, 235 West Foster, Melrose (www.beebeestate.com).  Parking is available on the grounds.  There is no cover,
but donations are accepted for costs and local charity.
