Alleged Burglar Found in Car at 2:30 in the Morning

Saturday, May 21, 2:25 a.m. Melrose Police received a call about someone looking into vehicles on Warwick Road. When officers responded, they found Christopher Cunniffe, 18, 198 Upham St. in Melrose, inside a vehicle parked at 164 Warwick Road, Melrose Police Lt. Mark DeCroteau said.

While an officer was interviewing Cunniffe, other officers found a vehicle belonging to Cunniffe idle and running on the road. Inside that car, DeCroteau said that officers saw “in plain view, several items that were placed into evidence that were apparently belongings from other larcenies in the area.” Among the items in the car were electronic items, sunglasses, iPods and an undetermined amount of cash in coins.

Cunniffe was placed under arrested on the charge of breaking and entering into a vehicle in the nighttime for a felony.

Overdose on Perham Avenue

Wednesday, May 18, 9:57 p.m. Melrose Police received a request for an ambulance for a possible overdose. DeCroteau said the person was treated on scene and transported to the hospital. Asked the type of drug involved in the overdose and whether the person had legal possession of the drug, DeCroteau declined to comment, citing medical privacy laws.

4:15 a.m. Officer off with a couple of intoxicated parties at West Foster Street at Myrtle Street.

5:59 p.m. Report of bike stolen from front porch on Philpot Terrace.

7:54 p.m. Officers report they broke up a party of about 50 youths in Youths fled as officers arrived.

8:41 p.m. Callers report several cars being bombarded with eggs on Lynn Fells Parkway. Officer reports several youths ran off.

Other Arrests and Summonses

Christopher E. O’Donnell, 41, 644 Main St., Wakefield, was arrested on Wednesday, May 18 on charges of a subsequent offense of a Class B drug, wrongfully attaching plates, operating an uninsured vehicle and operating an unregistered vehicle.

Wayne Maurice Aude, 47, 428 Dorchester Ave., Boston, was arrested on Wednesday, May 18 on the charge of open and gross lewdness (public urination).
