Chelsea Man Arrested on Child Rape Charge
Thursday, June 9, 2:37 p.m. Melrose Police arrested a 40-year-old Chelsea man on a child rape charge last Thursday, according to Melrose Police Lt. Mark DeCroteau.

Jose Rosado, 226 Washington, Chelsea, had a warrant issued for his arrest on Thursday, June 9 in connection with an ongoing investigation, DeCroteau said. Rosado faces charges of rape of a child with force; three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14; and three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child over 14.
Citing an ongoing investigation, DeCroteau declined to comment further on the case and arrest.

Victim Alleges Nighttime Robbery on West Wyoming Avenue
Monday, June 6, 9:17 p.m. Two men in their mid-20s reported being robbed by three other men unarmed men who demanded money on a West Wyoming Avenue sidewalk, but the alleged victims declined to pursue any charges.
The two men reported they were walking down West Wyoming Avenue near Berwick Street when a woman sitting on steps asked them for a cigarette, DeCroteau said. When the two men stopped, three men came up and demanded money from them, but did not show any weapons, they told police. One man allegedly had $40 taken from him, while the other allegedly had $20 taken from him.
Adult Teen Allegedly Held Against Will While Money Retrieved
Wednesday, June 8, 10:33 p.m. An adult teen reported being held against his will in the area of the Ripley School while his friend was instructed to retrieve money, DeCroteau saud.
The two alleged victims, who DeCroteau described as teenage adults, reported to police that they were in the area of the Ripley School when they were approached by three men around the same age as the alleged victims. One of the alleged victims was "forced to remain at the scene , while the other one was instructed to go and obtain money," DeCroteau said. When he left the scene to obtain the money, he instead called police and reported the situation.
Melrose Police issued a summons for a 19-year-old Melrose resident on charges of kidnapping and attempt to commit a crime (armed robbery) as a result of the incident, but DeCroteau said it remains under investigation.
Howie Street Home Broken Into
Monday, June 6, 6:13 p.m. Jewelry, a CD/radio docking station and a laptop computer were allegedly stolen from a home on Howie Street, DeCroteau said.
The homeowner arrived home and discovered that the screen for a dining room window had been removed, DeCroteau said, and subsequently found the items missing from the home. Melrose Police detectives processed the scene and the case remains under investigation.

Other Arrests and Summonses
Louis V. Dellagatta, 32, 231 Cargill St., Melrose, was arrested on Thursday, June 9 on charges of assault and battery, intimidating a witness and attempting to commit a crime.
A 38-year-old Melrose woman was placed under warrant arrest on Friday, June 10.
A 24-year-old Melrose man was placed under warrant arrest on Sunday, June 12.
