Today we start our warm weather trips in earnest.
June 3rd and the play Calendar Girls was showing at the Stoneham Theatre.
The show was outstanding. The cast had the whole theatre audience laughing out loud. Given the chance this Red Hat group might have signed up (not for the show; but for the calendar)

We had our dinner at Bickford’s restaurant in Woburn and the great variety of food; the service, and the seating arrangements were very good.
We talked about the play and our upcoming plans for the rest of the month.

Always thinking ahead; that’s us!
June 10th was our trip to the Myopia Polo Matches.
It was a beautiful day as we drove to Hamilton to see the magnificent horses’ parade before the matches.
Myopia is celebrating the 130th season of polo at Gibney field in Hamilton. People had set up tables and were enjoying the crisp weather as they washed down their lunches with wine and camaraderie.
We had stadium seating in the shade and watched as the animals and riders performed with precision the passing and moving of the pucks on the field. There were snacks available but most of us saved our meal time to get to the 15Walnut Rd. restaurant where we had our choices of meals or sandwiches, salads or soups.
We all agreed the food was ok to very good but our server was a bit over anxious.
It was a pleasant day; and it was good to be out with our Red Hat friends.
June 30th and it is time for baseball with the Lowell Spinners.
It was the beginning of the heat wave all across the country. Here in the Boston area we were to hit 90 degrees with high humidity; but we are Red Hatters and we did not cancel our trip to Lowell.
We had reserved seats in the shade behind home plate; we were served hot dogs and drinks and even got an ice cream.
In between the innings there were shows for the kids, and local entertainment. This evening it was Pirate Night and the actors played their parts well.
The game proved to be exciting as the Aberdeen Iron Birds went ahead of the Spinners in the bottom of the 8th inning. The score was 4 to 4 when the Spinners came up to bat in the last half of the 8th. Tension filled the stadium as the Lowell team came up to bat with a purpose you only find in baseball; that is to win; and they did. The team came up with enough hits to get two more runs and the final score after nine innings was 6 to 4. The Lowell spinners gave the crowd a great show.
It was a fun and food night for all of us for only $15.00 .
