This month of lights and music took us to Merrimack College on December 8th.
At the Rogers Center for the Arts we were entertained by three of the College's musical classes.
The College Concert Band under the direction of Mr.Paul Geresy, entertained us with the traditional music of "The Holly and the Ivy","Sleigh Ride" and Three pieces of the "First Suite in Eb".

Second on the program was the wonderful Concert Choir singing several holiday songs including "Christmas Canon"," Holy Night, Silent Night, "White Christmas"and "Carol of the Bells". The voices of the twenty seven young men and women blended very nicely under the direction of Mr. Hugh Hinton.
After a short break Mr. Geresy returned to direct the ensemble members of the Jazz Band. The members on Saxophone, Trombone, Trumpet, and the Rhythm Section played loud and clear giving us a total evening of music to enjoy.

We drove back to Wakefield to enjoy our dinners at Bellino's restaurant by the lake.
It was a lovely afternoon, and early evening, to be together with music, good food and the camaraderie of our Red Hat Pals.
On December 16th, we finally got a break in the weather so eight of our members decided to just go out for lunch. We chose the 99 restaurant in Stoneham where we have always enjoyed the food and service.
As the weather was cold and damp we were all dressed in our winter clothes of various colors, but we never do forget our Red Hats that completes any outfit.
As mentioned before, the food was good and the service outstanding. We shared our holiday wishes for a New Year that will be filled with good health and peace for all; and then we each left,(some with doggie bags), to continue our shopping and gift wrapping.
This past year we had lost a dear member of the group, and we miss her smile and loving ways.
We continue to go on; out to theater, and museums and ball games. We will plan on a New Year that will take us to places where we can travel and attend things that we will enjoy.
We will behave as Red Hatters, "Old enough to know better, but still young enough to do it anyway".
From this group of Red Hatters we wish all our readers a New Year filled with good health and happiness.
