July 2nd, the temperature 101 and a few of us were heading to Kittery Maine for lunch. With a little turn right of the highway we ended up in Eliot Maine instead towards a new restaurant for us.
Enzo Benzo Italian Bakery and Cafe very cool.
This spot has been here for two years and I have passed it many time so it was time to try it out.

It was an excellent choice. We had great Roast Beef sandwiches on home made Focaccia bread along with home made chips.
Gelato to cool us off ,and quick look at the beautiful pastry display. One doughnut to go was it.

The sandwiches were so big that we each took half home for dinner tonight. The ride was about one hour and by the time we got back we thought that a stop at Socs would make it a perfect day; and it did.
Air conditioned car, great new restaurant and Red Hat friends. A wonderful day to celebrate the 250th birthday of the country.
July 21st and I went to meet my Red Hat buddies in Maine. Our restaurant was Bentley's saloon in Arundel Maine, and it is a fun place.

There were number plates displayed all along the side of the ceiling; bikers plates, and race care plates .
There was a motorcycle and ladies lingerie hanging from the ceiling. I am guessing that this is a very happy place on week-ends.
That evening a car show was to take place. The facility is huge in side and outside; a very long bar and very high stools and even tables that we did not have to climb up to sit.

ON July 25th it was Christmas in July which we have done for many years. This year a little layed back as we had a great meal at a friends home.

WE started with three kinds of chips and assorted dips, ice tea was the drink and just chatting until our friend son got the grill going.
Red hot dogs, and cheeseburgers with the fixings, salad, coleslaw and potato salad and more talking.

Shepard's pie, cookies and small pieces of fudge for dessert.
We invested in 3 scratch card each and played Left Right Center; a lot of fun. Then it was gift time.
Our usual gift giving has always been recycled gifts ,and more fun, to see what each one of us got to take home.

It was a beautiful sun filled day in the cool porch and it was Christmas in July Red Hat style.
Although we are not doing as many trips as we had been doing in the past....What we do is fun; and we hope to continue moving and having enjoying ourselves whenever we can. Join us next month to see what we have thought of...
