Any missing pictures seemed to have gone into cyberspace...sorry

November 3rd we started the month by returning to the Concord Jail for lunch.

It is always a fun trip for us.

No bags or cell phones; only picture ID and $3.21 for the meal goes inside.. The meal today was chicken parmigiana, or sandwich, along with soup, salad, veggies, a drink with refills,and a great dessert. We did get an employee that was off work to take the picture. The prisoners are learning a trade in the culinary arts that will help them when their time in Concord is over.You saw right $3.21 for the whole deal....

On November 10th it was our Red Hat Thanksgiving family day.

We celebrated at the home of one of our members in Woburn. Each member brought something to add to the turkey and stuffing.

There were 12 attending (10 members and 2 aides). The meal was supplied by each member and it was soup to nuts. Appetizers of course and then we went all the way.... Black bean soup,Turkey, stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, squash, green beans, rolls and cider.

We waited a while for the pumpkin and pecan pies as we chatted joked and took pictures of a very happy group of friends celebrating a very happy day of thanksgiving.

On the 14th. it was off to Jordan's furniture in Avon to see the Enchanted Village. Many of you might remember the Enchanted Village in the Jordan Marsh store in Boston. The pieces were originally crafted in 1930 by a Bavarian toy maker. The display had been moved from Jordan Marsh to Macy's and then finally put up for auction in 2009 and purchased by Jordan's furniture.

The holiday scenes and animated figurines are now in perfect condition and present a memory for many of us, and a view of beauty, peacefulness and joy for the young and young at heart. There is also an indoor skating rink and other fun things to do.

It was a wonderful trip for us; and a wonderful time in our childhood minds again.

On the way back for lunch we returned to one of our go to places; the 99 restaurant in Stoneham.

Great food, good service, more talking, and planning more holiday functions before this year ends.

On the 28th it was off to Methuen to once again view the Festival of Trees. The senior free time from 9 to 12 brought out busses from many of the local Senior homes along with those of us that drove by ourselves in groups.

There were more than 200 trees and wreaths to view as we walked the designated route around the large hall.

It is amazing how well planned this event is every year for so many to come and enjoy and even hope to win a tree.

We had our lunch at the Irish Cottage close by, and we only had to wait about 15 minutes to be seated, although they were very busy.

Always good food and proper service to make it a sun filled, chill filled day to bring the season closer to our hearts and minds.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth !! She was a true icon, inspiring people around the world with her strength, courage, resilience, and dedication to a life of service for 70 years. An enduring admiration for Queen Elizabeth II united people across the Commonwealth.

On the last day of November (the 30th) we went to welcome back Sheryl Faye in her new performance as the Queen of England. As usual, whenever we have seen Sheryl perform her one women show on Historical Women we are always amazed at her talent as an actress.

Her changing of clothes, the Queens handbag ,and hair color changes as she aged seemed to flow with the entire performance.

If you have not seen Sheryl Faye perform you are missing a great show.

We had sandwiches at a very local restaurant on Lincoln st. in Newton across from the Senior Center before heading back to Melrose.

Just a great day to end the month. Long live the Queen and the Red Hatters.
