Sam Hammar is My Choice for Mayor of Melrose
Melrose is ready for new way forward with this experienced community builder and innovator with a deep passion for our city.

I’ve known Sam Hammar for several years and was already on board with her campaign for Mayor, but on Friday night at the Rising Eagle, I gained a new appreciation for my friend and the job we’re hoping Melrose hires her to do. Melrosians came out and joined me to hear about a new way forward for Melrose that includes all of us.
Izzy Sorice, a close friend and neighbor of Sam’s, spoke about their relationship and Sam’s deep devotion to Izzy’s family and our community. We heard about Sam’s "willingness to listen to different perspectives on complex social issues… She not only talks the talk, but also walks the walk." I already knew that, but Izzy’s perspective gave me new insight into how much Sam elevates voices and empowers others.
Mayor Gail Infurna also shared her perspective on what it takes to make it in City Hall, saying, “As Mayor, you need to bring together a great team, motivate them, and empower them to make your vision a reality. I am confident that Sam will be able to do just that.” I have seen Sam inspire and lead on countless occasions and I am so excited for her to bring her inclusive team approach to City Hall.

Sam loves this city as much as I do and I know she is the right person to be our next Mayor. She has the skills, experience, vision, and passion to lead us forward. Her closing statement really hit home for me. “If we work together, Melrose can live up to its potential and remain a place people are able to stay forever, a place where we all belong. If we’re together today, we will be stronger tomorrow.”
