Storm Passes Quickly Through Melrose
Reports of tree limbs down, but no major damage yet.
Well, that wasn't nearly as bad as the macroburst earlier this month that caused a house fire on Natalie Avenue.
Despite a severe thunderstorm warning issued by the National Weather Service, this afternoon's thunderstorm seemed to pass through Melrose quickly, with rain starting to fall just past 5 p.m. and generally subsiding by 5:25 p.m. There were reports of a tree limb falling on a car and wires on Beech Avenue — seen in our photos below — and a limb from a city tree down on a sidewalk on Glendale Avenue, but no other reports of damage.
