If you’re like us here at Patch, sometimes you feel guilty knowing those three extra large Styrofoam Dunkin’ Donuts cups you throw out every day will all take up space in a landfill for the next million years. For those with an equal or greater need for delicious coffee, here’s a chance to lessen its environmental baggage.

The Melrose Mayor’s blog announced that a event specially designed for recycling Styrofoam is planned for Saturday, March 21, at the DPW Recycling Center from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Residents are encouraged to drop off their coffee cups, packing blocks, meat trays, and takeout containers. More specific info about what Styrofoam contraptions can and can’t be accepted is found here.
