20-Year-Old Drowns At Breakheart Reservation: DA
The victim was trying to swim to an island in Silver Lake when he went under, officials said.
SAUGUS, MA – A 20-year-old man died after drowning in Silver Lake at Breakheart Reservation late Wednesday afternoon.
The man attempted to swim to an island with his two cousins, but struggled about halfway there and went under, the Essex County District Attorney's Office said. The cousins could not find him.
Police were notified at about 4:49 p.m. The victim was pulled from the water about an hour later after Saugus, Stoneham, and Wakefield Fire Departments responded.

The victim was pronounced dead at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.
The victim had been living with a cousin in Lynn. His identity is being withheld.

Foul play is not suspected, officials said.
