Worcester Boy, 13, Drowns In Bell Pond
The boy was found in about 12 feet of water last night. He was revived at the hospital, but pronounced dead early Thursday morning.

WORCESTER, MA — A 13-year-old boy has died after being pulled out of Bell Pond Wednesday night. Worcester Police said the boy was pronounced dead early Thursday morning.
A police officer responded to the beach shortly after 8 p.m., arriving to find several people yelling about a boy missing in the water and several more looking for him. The officer also attempted to find the boy but was unsuccessful.
A Worcester Fire Scuba Team arrived and shortly after found the boy in about 12 feet of water approximately 69 feet from shore. Authorities estimate he was under water for about 15 minutes.

The boy was rushed to UMass Medical, where his pulse was restored and he began to breathe. The boy was then pronounced dead shortly before 3 a.m. Thursday.

Police said four lifeguards ended their shift at 7 p.m., posting signs that the beach was closed fro the rest of the day. Lifeguards also removed everyone from the water before leaving.
The boy's identity is not being released at this time.
An investigation is ongoing.
