Third Period Goal Nets Tie With Wilmington [VIDEO]
Melrose erases two one-goal deficits and snags 2-2 tie with first place Wildcats.
Melrose is at the bottom of the boys hockey Middlesex League Small School Division. Wilmington is at the top. You couldn't tell that by watching Saturday's game.
The Red Raiders erased a pair of one goal deficits and earned a 2-2 tie against playoff bound Wilmington. With the tie, Melrose is now 3-10-5 on the year, 1-5-3 in league play. The Wildcats, meanwhile, are 10-3-4 overall and 5-1-2 in the Middlesex League.
Luke Foley provided Wilmington with a 1-0 edge in the first period, but Matthew Clougherty erased that deficit when he found the back of the net with six seconds remaining on a power play.

Dalton Rolli jolted the Wildcats back into the lead with a goal with 25 seconds to play before the second intermission, but again it wasn't enough to fight off Melrose.
With 12:20 to play in the game, Mike DiRaffaele, a sophomore, roofed the puck and knotted the score once again.
