Thoughts while shaving

by Jim Tierney

You probably heard the joke about going upstairs to get something, stopping half way up trying to remember what you went up for and wondering if you were going up or coming down. As you get older, it’s not a joke anymore because it’s a reality for those who have short term memory loss, although this happens to anybody sometimes no matter their age. It comes with the territory, the older you get the more forgetful you get. It’s not the end of the world, it’s normal as you age and there are many things you can do to overcome it, like puzzles and playing solitaire and irritating family members. It’s not easy giving up some of the things you did automatically every day but look at the bright side, you’re still alive and kicking.
