VIDEO: Late Surge Sinks Melrose Softball
The Melrose High softball team gave up four unanswered runs in the final two innings as visiting Stoneham won 10-9 on Friday.
With a 9-6 lead heading into the top of the seventh inning, the Melrose High softball team looked all but set to pick up its second win of the season over visiting Stoneham.
Bu the Spartans had other plans in mind, and scored three runs in the seven the seventh to tie the game at 9-9, followed by the winning run in the eighth on a wild pitch for the win.
Athena Ziavras and Alyssa DiRaffaele both had a pair of hits and scored twice to lead Melrose.
