Acquaintance Accused of Stealing Cell Phone, ATM Card

Sunday, March 6, 8:12 a.m. A Pleasant Street resident reported to Melrose Police that a man she knew had visited her and when he left, she noticed some of her items were missing, including a cell phone and an ATM card, Melrose Police Lt. Mark DeCroteau said. A summons was issued for the 50-year-old Saugus man on charges of larceny over $250 (the ATM card) and larceny under $250 (the cell phone). The matter remains under investigation.
Warrant of Apprehension Served on Indian Hill Lane

Friday, March 4, 9:22 a.m. Melrose Police served a warrant of apprehension at an Indian Hill Lane home and took the person to Malden District Court without incident. DeCroteau said that a warrant of apprehension is issued by the court to make a determination of a person's well-being.
"Somebody has petitioned the court and provided information that the person needs to come before the court," he explained. "It could be either medical treatment, or substance abuse, or any other reason that the person has petitioned for and has convinced the court they need to go. We bring him right to the court, we don't book the person."
Student Refuses to Leave High School Grounds
Friday, March 4, 11:39 a.m. Principal Joe Dillon requested police due to a student who was refusing to leave the grounds at the direction of the principal, DeCroteau said. The student left the property without incident and his mother was apprised by an officer of the situation.

Friday, March 4, 1:11 p.m. A caller reported a man wrapped in a blanket looking cold on the sidewalk at Main Street and West Emerson Street. Three officers searched the area and couldn't find anyone matching that description.
Friday, March 4, 2:33 p.m. Walk-in report from Chipman Avenue of threats.
Friday, March 4, 5:12 p.m. Caller reports GPS stolen from car behind .
Friday, March 4, 6:14 p.m. Caller reported three teenagers throwing rocks at cars in the parking lot.
Saturday, March 5, 10:23 a.m. Report of a fight in the emergency room.
Saturday, March 5, 6:15 p.m. Report of lost credit card that was used at in Melrose. Owner canceled the card.
Sunday, March 6, 12:55 a.m. Caller reports fight outside Lebanon Street. All quiet upon officers' arrival, person who started fight had left prior to officers' arrival.
Sunday, March 6, 9:09 p.m. Report of past domestic disturbance on Lake Avenue.
Monday, March 7, 12:13 a.m. Caller from Brazil Street reported his son spotted a male party trying to break into his truck, setting off alarm. White male wearing black hoodie ran down towards Washington Street.
