"Most importantly, he is actively involved even when it doesn't make front-page news, and he is dedicated over the long term."

I am writing in support of my good friend, Mike Zwirko, who is running for mayor of Melrose. This city is very lucky to have four strong candidates running in the primary election on September 17.
I am voting for Mike because of his long track record of strong public service to this city that we all love. He has been on the board of alderman since 2015, and is always dedicated and active in community causes, both big and small. Most importantly, he is actively involved even when it doesn’t make front-page news, and he is dedicated over the long term. Those are two essential qualities that I want in my mayor.

As an alderman, he has made decisions that have helped Melrose become a city that continues to keep pace with the increasingly vital issues needing to be addressed by local governments everywhere: sustainability, financial solvency and municipal growth, adequate funding of public schools, and inclusion.
Mike has been a long-term champion of issues that are important to me and my family: spearheading the plastic bag ban, supporting the much-needed override, developing community in increasingly divisive times, and being transparent and open in his decision-making processes. This is an important election, and I look forward to seeing everyone at the polls on election day. Go Mike!
