The Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism (MOTT), through the MA250 campaign, announced the state’s participation in “Sharing the Spirit of America,” an initiative inviting cities and towns across Massachusetts to host local readings and community events as part of a synchronized national moment at 6 pm ET on July 8, 2026.As the birthplace of the American Revolution and the site of the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, Massachusetts is uniquely positioned to join this national moment. &nbsp;The “Sharing the Spirit of America” initiative is led by America250 Commission partners and represents a coordinated national effort to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the first public readings of the Declaration.Join us at Draper Park 244 Main St Milford 6 PM

A Stage Read Through with talented local actors in the open air!
Roll out the picnic blankets and camping chairs! This stage reading in pantemeter, reminiscient of Shakespeare, is meant to delight! This outdoor stage reading in the park is brought to life by local actors and directed by Matt Fear. Written by local playwright, Nathan Walkowicz, it tells the story of "Elara" a daughter and sister who must overcome nefarious villians!
Donations accepted in lieu of ticket sales. Parking is free starting at 6PM!&nbsp;Funded in part from a grant from the Upton Cultural Council.

First Congregational Church

Join us for an evening of stand-up comedy at its highest technical and artistic level to support individuals in recovery. Reckless Comedy is a "laugh-until-your-sides-hurt" night where no topic is off the table. Proceeds from the show will be going to the Milford First Congregational Church. They have been paramount in giving the recovery community a space to heal and grow. Get ready to cackle, cry-laugh and leave feeling excited to be part of this crazy thing called life. It's a sober event, but we're going hard. There will be food and drinks provided. Alcohol will not be served out of respect to those in recovery. All are welcome! Please come if you are in recovery and love comedy, or support recovery and love comedy. $20 dollar tickets! Come at 7pm for a social hour! The comedy show will kick off at 8. Address is 4 Congress Street,Milford MA 01757. There is limited parking at the venue, but there is plenty of street parking. About Our Comedians!&nbsp; Jason Cordova Jason Cordova is a Boston-based comedian. He has made a name on the national scale, on shows like HBO's Pause with Sam Jay, and performed at legendary clubs like Gotham Comedy Club, The Stand, The Comedy Connection, and Foxwoods Casino. After his first time on stage in 2009, he hasn't stopped, carving out a lane for himself in the Boston comedy scene and rising up the ranks with his hard-hitting, brutal honesty that somehow makes us all feel not so different from each other.
