2 People Treated For Coronavirus At Milford Regional Hospital

One of the people was admitted to the hospital for treatment, officials said.

MILFORD, MA — Two people who tested positive for the new coronavirus, COVID-19, were treated at Milford Regional Medical Center recently, according to the hospital.

Of the two positive COVID-19 cases, one person was admitted to the hospital. The other person is now at home, a hospital spokesperson said Monday.

Milford town officials had yet to confirm a positive COVID-19 case in town as of Monday. It's not clear if either of the Milford Regional Medical Center cases are in people who live in Milford, or if they are people who traveled here for treatment.

Milford Regional Medical Center has taken a number of steps to keep COVID-19 from spreading inside the facility. The hospital has canceled elective surgeries, closed all but one entrance, and is closed to most visitors.

As of Sunday afternoon, 646 people in Massachusetts had tested positive for COVID-19. Worcester County had 37 cases, but neighboring Middlesex County had 199 cases — the highest number in the state.
