After Multi Year Hiatus, Celebrate Milford Returns In 2022

The last Celebrate Milford festival in 2019 attracted some 15,000 people, according to organizers.

MILFORD, MA — In about a month, one of Milford's biggest annual festivals will make its long awaited return.

Celebrate Milford was last held in 2019 and went on hiatus over the past two years due to the coronavirus pandemic. The 2022 festival is set for May 14 (rain day on May 15) and is shaping up to be as big as the last one, which attracted some 15,000 people to the Milford Town Park area.

The day will begin with a youth parade — with special guests from the New England Patriots — traveling from Stacy Middle School to the Memorial School. A "kids zone" amusement area opens at 10:30 a.m., and the formal kickoff starts at 11 a.m. Food vendors will be available all day. There will also be live music with seven performers between noon and 6 p.m. at the festival's beer garden.

The 2022 Celebrate Milford festival will be dedicated to employees from Milford Public Schools and the Milford Regional Medical Center for their work during the pandemic. School and medical center employees can also enter a special raffle to win one of four $500 cash prizes. The first 600 employees will also get a $10 food voucher.

Local volunteers and the Milford Area Chamber of Commerce organized the first festival in 2015 aiming to celebrate the town and the arrival of spring. Net proceeds from Celebrate Milford go back to the community in the form of scholarships, funding beautification events and youth programs.
