MILFORD, MA — A man in Milford is facing charges after a multi-agency investigation into illegal firearms trafficking led to his arrest last week, according to the Milford Police Department.
Caua Dasilva, 21, was charged with multiple federal firearms offenses after Milford police, along with agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), Massachusetts State Police, Marlborough Police Department and Hudson Police Department, executed a search warrant at a home on Congress Street Friday.
The coordinated operation was the result of a long-term investigation into the buying and selling of illegal firearms in the area, police said.
Milford Police Chief Robert Tusino praised the collaborative effort among agencies.
“I’d like to thank all the local, state and federal law enforcement agencies involved in removing illegal firearms and the people that provide them to others in our community to commit crime,” Tusino said in a statement.
Following his arrest, Dasilva was transported to Worcester Federal Court for arraignment, according to police. Further details about the charges and court proceedings were not immediately available.
