Tim McDonough, vice commander of the Italian American War Veterans Milford Post 40, will serve as this year's grand marshal. Gail Arcudi Reichert, a Navy veteran, will be the master of ceremonies.

Divisions will assemble at 9:30 a.m. in the parking lot next to the IHOP restaurant on Route 109, Medway Road. The parade is scheduled to step off at 10 a.m.

Marchers are expected to include members of local service organizations, the Milford Police and Fire departments, local and state representatives, bands from Milford High School and Stacy Middle School and Boy and Girl Scouts.

If the parade is canceled because of bad weather, a speaking ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. at the Italian American Veterans Post 40 on Hayward Field.

Field Of Flags At Draper Memorial Park

In addition to the parade, Draper Memorial Park will once again be filled with American flags in honor of Memorial Day.

The annual Field of Flags display, sponsored by Citizens for Milford and the Milford Corps of the Salvation Army, commemorates the service and sacrifice of veterans and active-duty military members by installing hundreds of American flags throughout the park.

The display also returns annually for Independence Day and Veterans Day. Organizers said this year’s Independence Day installation will be expanded to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
