MILFORD, MA — A Milford man is facing charges following a knife attack that left a victim with wounds to the hands, neck and face, police said.
Raghavendar Juluru, 46, was charged with assault and battery, among other charges, following an incident Monday in the South Central section of town. Milford police said it received a 911 call at about 12:46 p.m. reporting a victim with lacerations to the neck and shoulder area.
Officers arrived at about 12:50 p.m. and found the victim with visible knife wounds, according to police. The 911 caller directed officers to a nearby residence where the incident was believed to have taken place, police said.
Inside the home, officers found a large amount of blood in different areas, police said.
"This incident represents a deeply disturbing act of violence that resulted in serious physical and emotional injuries to the victim," Milford Police Chief Robert Tusino said in a statement. "We are fortunate that this incident did not result in a loss of life. I'd like to commend the outstanding response from our Patrol Division, Detective Bureau, and Family Services Unit for their swift actions and professionalism, which helped bring this case to a quick resolution."
Juluru was held on $50,000 bail, police said. He faces charges of assault with intent to murder, assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, kidnapping, assault to maim and carrying a dangerous weapon.
Milford police told Patch that the victim was transported and is stable.
