Milford Special Olympics Athletes Win Medals At State Games
Athletes from Milford returned from Harvard University with medals.

MILFORD, MA — Milford Special Olympics athletes returned from Harvard University with medals and two undefeated volleyball teams after competing in the 2026 Special Olympics Massachusetts Summer Games.
More than 100 Milford Special Olympics athletes competed this past weekend in swimming, track and field, powerlifting and volleyball, with athletes earning gold, silver and bronze medals, Milford Special Olympics said. Both Milford volleyball teams won all of their tournament games and took home gold medals.

The Summer Games ran from Jun. 5 to Jun. 7 at Harvard’s athletic complex in Boston, with competition in track and field, swimming, tennis, volleyball and powerlifting. The organization describes the Summer Games as its largest event of the year, bringing more than 1,500 athletes and Unified Partners and 1,000 volunteers to Harvard.

Milford police officers also participated in this year’s Cruiser Convoy. The Jun. 6 event brought law enforcement officers from across Massachusetts to the Summer Games at Harvard, where officers were invited to watch competitions, interact with athletes and present medals.

Milford High School alumni involved included Katie Annis, Kelsie Duest, Ashley Aldrich, David Mayancela, Zach Landry, Mark Mancuso, JP Young, Jaci Ehrlich, Alex Davilla and Briana Goncalves.

Milford High School students included Aaron Cote, Trevor Dupre, Alan Martinez, Miguel Zamora, Kayen Dupuis Simoes, Noah Martins, Gilberto Ortiz, Dean Rappazini, Xander Seyfarth, Tylie Englund and Anish Anala.
Milford K-8 students included Dom DeAngelo, Amaury Ramos, Elena DesMauris, Henrique DosSantos, Victor DosSantos, AJ Gonzalez, Julius Johnson, Thomas MacDonald, Guiherme Ribeiro, Ingrid Silva, Liam Solomon, Juliet Sullivan, Ryan Toomey and Melissa Viera.
Milford volunteers included Ellie Wallace, Emma Haughey, Avalina DiGiallonardo, Chris DiStaurio, Alex Kerr, Iuri Dias, Nolan Falk, Emily Hodges, Maggie Holland, Mackenzie Roy, Madison Sanborn and Kay Strafello.
Milford Special Olympics said many other athletes from surrounding towns also compete on its teams.
