An NFL Draft Party with Patriots Power
Vince Wilfork, a defensive lineman for the New England Patriots, organized an NFL draft party at Pinz that raised $150,000 for diabetes research.
A huge crowd turned out Thursday for an NFL draft party at That might happen at any bar or restaurant during the draft.
But Pinz had something special: Vince Wilfork of the New England Patriots, one of the NFL's best defensive linemen, and several of his fellow players.
Wilfork, his wife, Bianca, and dozens of friends helped draw a crowd of 500 to 600 people. Money was raised to help benefit diabetes research, said David Breen, owner of Pinz.

Wilfork, who has played eight seasons with the Patriots, accepted an honorary award from John Brooks, president and chief executive officer of the Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston. He and his wife have a home in the area, and hold an NFL draft party at Pinz every year, Breen said.
Among those who attended Thursday: U.S. Sen. Scott Brown (R-Massachusetts) and numerous New England Patriots, including Sammy Morris, Matt Light, Sebastian Vollmer, Kevin Faulk, Dan Koppen and Jerod Mayo. Tommy Harper, a former Boston Red Sox player, also attended, Breen said.
