UPDATED: Fino Pool Opens at Noon Thursday

State officials have ordered all deep-water, state pools closed until further notice after a woman's body was recovered from a Fall River pool. Casey Memorial Pool, among them, is expected to reopen once a safety review is completed.

UPDATED: The , a town pool, will open at noon Thursday, according to Milford parks officials, who were readying the pool for its first visitors this morning.

The pool is open for a moderate fee to town residents and visitors. It will remain open until 6 p.m. Thursday, and will be open through the weekend except for July 4.

The daily hours of operation are noon to 6 p.m. Fees are the same as last summer: $1 for children, $2 for adult Milford residents and $3 for people from other towns.

A notice published on the state's Department of Conservation and Recreation website states the closures of deep-water pools are in place until further notice.

The Boston Globe reported on its website Wednesday that a woman's body was found floating in a state-run pool in Fall River Tuesday night. The 36-year-old woman was found floating in the Veteran’s Memorial Swimming Pool at Lafayette Park, according to the newspaper's report.

Gregg Miliote, a spokesman for the Bristol district attorney’s office, told the newspaper the state was investigating whether the woman's body had been in the pool since Sunday. “That’s certainly something that’s being looked into," he told the Globe.

The closure of the 30 DCR-run pools, including , is to allow the state to review safety procedures, according to the newspaper report.

On Tuesday night, that two people were seen in the Casey pool, after the facility had closed for the night. One person, who was seen loitering in the area, was told by police to leave.
