Chief O'Loughlin To Be Honored By Democratic Town Committee
Police Chief Thomas O'Loughlin is being honored for leading the department for the past 18 years and his efforts to battle the opioid crisis
MILFORD, MA- The Milford Democratic Town Committee will honor longtime police chief Thomas O'Loughlin at their second annual spring brunch, on Sunday, March 31, at the Crystal Room in Milford.
Thomas O'Loughlin has been Milford's Police Chief since 2001 and is being honored for leading the department for the past 18 years and his efforts to battle the opioid crisis. The police department was one of the first in the state to provide Narcan to officers to prevent deaths from drug overdoses.
For 18 years, Chief O'Loughlin has served this community well and creatively," said Milford DTC chair Christine Crean. "He was able to collaborate with other community services and always tried to be helpful. And the support he has is a testimony to how his staff and how this town sees him."

Speakers at this year's brunch will focus on a theme of transparency and inclusion in government. The keynote address at the brunch will be delivered by state senator Jamie Eldridge, a tireless supporter of progressive causes in his 15 years in the state legislature. Framingham city councilor Margareth Shepard, the first Brazilian immigrant elected to a city council in the United States, will also be speaking.
"It is fundamental that immigrants be informed and participate in politics at the local level," Shepard said in a Facebook post announcing her participation. "We need to represent ourselves."
