Coronavirus Fight At Milford Regional Will Be Focus Of TV Show

Local elected officials will spotlight workers at Milford Regional Medical Center in the upcoming TV special.

MILFORD, MA — A group of Milford citizens, elected officials, and other community members will host a TV special in two weeks highlighting the work of local medical professionals during the coronavirus pandemic.

Citizens for Milford is thrilled to announce a Milford TV special programming event, "Confronting the Challenges of COVID-19 at Milford Regional Medical Center: Honoring Our Healthcare Heroes," a tribute to our community’s healthcare professionals.

This special program will highlight the exceptional work taking place at MRMC and the safety measures that have been implemented to ensure the best possible care and treatment during this ongoing health crisis. Healthcare professionals, patients, caregivers, EMTs, and others on the front lines of the pandemic will share their personal stories of courage and hope. Hospital administrators and leaders in the greater Milford community will share their own perspectives.

"It is such an honor for Citizens for Milford to work with our hospital and community leaders to create this unique program," said Citizens for Milford Chairman Steve Trettel. "Please join other area residents to watch this tribute to Milford Regional and its amazing, dedicated staff, who have been working tirelessly to protect and heal us during this pandemic.”

State Reps. Brian W. Murray, D-Milford, and Jeffrey N. Roy, D-Franklin, will co-host the program.

"I am so pleased to help recognize and thank the personnel and staff at Milford Regional Medical Center for their selfless efforts during this unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. We, as a community, have had to rely upon their expertise, compassion and dedication more than ever to remain healthy and safe. They, more than ever, rose to the occasion and met that challenge superbly," Murray said.

Confronting the Challenges of COVID-19 at Milford Regional Medical Center will air live on June 9 beginning at 6 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m. Viewers can watch it on Milford TV channels Comcast 8 and Verizon 38, the Milford TV app, MilfordTV.net, and other streaming platforms (VOD, ROKU, Twitter: @Milford_TV, Facebook: @MilfordTV, and
Instagram: milfordtv).

Residents in Blackstone and Norfolk can watch on their community stations. The program will be replayed on Milford TV and twelve other area stations on June 10 and 11. Check your community TV station for options. Radio listeners can tune into the simulcast on MyFM 101.3.

Among the many people who will be participating in this special programming event are Edward J. Kelly, President and Chief Executive Officer of MRMC; Patrick R. McSweeney, MD, President, Milford Regional Physician Group; Senator Ryan C. Fattman (Worcester and Norfolk District); William D. Buckley, Chair, Milford Board of Selectmen; Jacquelyn Murphy, DrPH, MPH, Milford Director of Public Health; Mark A. Nelson, Milford Fire Chief; and Michael A. Pighetti, Milford Police Chief. Additional speakers will be announced soon.

Viewers and listeners will be provided information regarding ways they can donate to MRMC’s COVID-19 fund during the program. All area residents are reminded that they can financially support this critical work anytime by donating online. This Milford TV special programming event is being created by Citizens for Milford in collaboration with Milford Regional Medical Center, Milford TV, and MyFM 101.3.
