A nearly 600 percent increase in a cost estimate for the Louisa Lake dam has the selectmen looking for a second opinion.The board voted to have a peer review of work by consulting company GZA <a href="http://www.milforddailynews.com/article/20151005/NEWS/151007544" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">according to the Milford Daily News.</a> The cost estimate for the work on the dam increased from $130,000 to $598,000. Weston &amp; Sampson, a consulting service, will look at the dam and vet the report for $3,500.The dam was labeled a significant safety hazard in 2012 with the state giving Milford a Fiscal Year 2016 deadline. After GZA lobbied the state to changing the labeling from poor to fair, the deadline was pushed three years.
