According to Peter Garrett, president of Volta Oil/Garrett’s Family Market, “The Garrett family has been in the petroleum and convenience store business since 1930, with our first convenience store opening in 1991. I’m pleased to see the next chapter of our family business come to life in Milford with Garrett’s Family Market, serving fresh hot foods and handcrafted beverages. We are also proud of our location visible from Rt. 495 and as one of the town’s first self-serve 24-hour gas stations. Whether you are coming off the highway for a late-night bite, fueling your morning commute, or exploring the adjacent rail trail, we are proud to officially open this new Garrett’s Family Market and welcome all to join the celebration on May 4th.”
“We are thrilled to be a part of Dunkin’s next generation store initiative and can’t wait to bring this innovative new restaurant to the Milford community,” said Neal Faulkner, Dunkin’ franchisee. “The new menu offerings and approachable atmosphere will grab the attention of Dunkin’ fans and help keep Milford running on Dunkin’ for years to come.” Dunkin’ is proud to unveil this store, one of the latest Next Generation Concept stores offering a look at the brand’s U.S. store of the future experience, with a modern atmosphere and new and innovative technologies and design to make running on Dunkin’ faster and more convenient than ever before.
After the success of the company’s Rapid Refill brand, Volta Oil decided to create a new brand focused on meeting the needs of today’s on the go consumers. The new store features handcrafted and all-natural organic signature fountain and frozen drinks featuring organic sweeteners; craveable fresh hot foods including calzones, Barnyard Subs and sandwiches on-the-go, as well as freshly baked goods, apple crisp and more. The 24-hour store also features plenty of seating and outlets for charging, as well as free wi-fi. Just a few of the fresh food offerings found only at Garrett’s Family Market include garden salads and individual-sized frittatas for health conscious consumers.
In addition to our fresh food choices, consumers can enjoy such traditional convenience store services as an ATM, lottery tickets, bagged ice, propane tank filling, and an air refill station. With outdoor seating and bike racks for the Upper Charles Rail Trail, the nearby store also offers a wide array of cell phone accessories and phone and gift cards Garrett’s also plans to provide an electric car-charging station in the near future.
Garrett’s Family Market gas stations are a leader in the fight against Alzheimer’s Disease by donating a portion of gas sales and collecting donations for the Alzheimer’s Association every June and July. The chain’s Purple Pump Up campaign, named for the Alzheimer Association’s cause color, is just one element of the Milford store’s grand re-opening campaign and has raised over a half a million dollars to date.
Garrett’s Family Market is a part of the family-owned Volta Group, based in Plymouth, Mass., which distributes petroleum products in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Connecticut. Volta Oil also retails gasoline, diesel and convenience store merchandise through 16 Garrett’s Family Market and Rapid Refill stores across Massachusetts in Milford, Plymouth, Taunton, Falmouth, Bridgewater, Randolph, Beverly, Hyannis, Bellingham and Devens.
