Kicking and Splashing at the Town Pool

Learning how to swim, a tradition for Milford children, continues this summer at Fino Field Memorial Pool.

The Milford Rotary Red Cross Swim Program is in full swing at the , with classes running Monday through Friday at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Lessons began July 11 and will run through July 22.

Thomas Sawyer, Sr., program chairman, said “the swim program is one of the most successful programs run and subsidized by the Milford Rotary Club. More than 12,200 kids have participated in the program since it began over 50 years ago."

“As of Tuesday morning, we have signed up just over 100 participants for swimming lessons. The classes originated back in the 40s and were held at White’s Beach in Mendon."
