LETTER: 'This Isn't Just About Banning Recreational Sales In Our Town'
"The effort is being led by a small group of people who don't want any marijuana related businesses in town."

This Tuesday, Sept. 19, the citizens of Milford will be called upon to cast their vote for recreational marijuana….again. This question was already decided last November, when the people of Milford voted to approve Question 4 with a strong majority. Now, less than one year later we are being asked to vote again on the same issue, a referendum ballot that not only seeks to undo the will of the citizens of Milford, but to go a step further by effectively banning all licensed marijuana businesses in our town, including those already operating to serve the medical marijuana industry.
The effort is being led by a small group of people who don’t want any marijuana related businesses in town and who have managed to quietly push their agenda with the Board of Selectmen during the summer months, ensuring absolutely no transparency, and preventing any meaningful dialog on the issue to take place.

Everyone who votes must understand that this referendum is not what it appears to be at face value. It’s not just about banning recreational sales in our town; it’s about overturning our votes and banning all types of marijuana in Milford. This goes against the will of what we have already approved and will cost the town jobs and revenue from existing and future business.
Don’t be fooled. Vote NO on Sept. 19!
