Mendon Drive-In Hosting Costume Contest, Early 'Spider-Man 2' Screening

Comic book fans, get ready. A host of super heroes will descend on Mendon next Thursday.

The Mendon Twin Drive-In will open its gates on Thursday, May 1 to celebrate the pre-release of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2". The showing will be a day ahead of the film's scheduled release. 

Moreover, the drive-in will host a special theme night of "Super Heroes," and will roll out a red carpet for headlong showings of the film on Screen One and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" on Screen Two. 

The Phantom Gourmet's Andelman brothers, who now own the drive-in, will host a special costume contest for movie-goers at the event. The three "Best in Show" finishers will each take home a $100 Phantom Gourmet gift card, which can be redeemed at more than 200 restaurants in the area. The Andelman brothers will announce the winners at 7:15 p.m. before the movies begin.

The Mendon Drive-In is located on 35 Milford St. in Mendon, just minutes from the Milford border. The cost for patrons is $25 per car. 

During the months of April, May, September and October, the drive-in will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday evenings. The theater will also be open nightly from Memorial Day through Labor day, with the box office and snack bar opening at 6 p.m., and the double-feature movies beginning at sundown.
