Milford Compost Facility Closed Sundays Until Sept. 15

MILFORD, MA — If you're looking to drop off your compost this Sunday, you'll have to reschedule. Milford's compost facility is closed on Sundays for the remainder of the summer until Sept. 15.

The hours for the facility will be the same for Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays:

· Thursday and Friday – 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

· Saturday – 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

According to the town Board of Health, the compost facility on Asylum Street is under the control of the Highway Department. Since usage of the facility was down during the summer months and the expense to keep it open on Sundays during the summer was very high, the Highway Department decided to close the facility on Sundays in July and August.
