Mitch Ruscitti, a member of the Downtown Revitalization Committee, proposed using the CDBG funds to upgrade the park spaces, and said improving the parks would provide more opportunities for many local groups, including families, young people and nonprofits to use green spaces in one of the densest parts of Milford.

The Milford Town Park is located behind Memorial Elementary School along Congress Street and features some passive recreation space plus sports courts and fields. The park was also the site of a recent $443,000 rain garden project meant to keep contaminates out of the Charles River.
