Milford State Of Emergency: Parks, Inspections Department Close
Milford declared a state of emergency over coronavirus on Monday, plus new town facility closures.
MILFORD, MA — Town officials declared a state of emergency on Monday over the new coronavirus outbreak. The maneuver gives the town access to emergency funds, but officials have also added new town-related closures.
On Tuesday, the Milford Department of Inspections closed. Instead, the town will try alternate ways of getting inspections done, like using video chat or videos submitted by building owners. Anyone seeking a permit from the building department can still mail in an application.
Also on Tuesday, Milford closed all parks and related facilities to public use. That includes things like tennis courts, school grounds, fields, and the high school track. The Upper Charles River Trail is still open, but officials warned residents to practice social distancing, especially near Louisa Lake.
